"Could It Be Fate?" Episode 8 Preview: Hoyeong and Hongju's Conflict, Reconciliation, and a Shocking Conclusion

 Hongju feels sympathy as she watches Junho reveal his illness and try to hold onto her, but she realizes that her feelings for him are no longer the same. She comes to understand why Junho had to leave, but decides to completely end their relationship. Hongju informs her boss that she can no longer continue working and begins to clear out the belongings that remind her of Junho, signaling her farewell to the past.

Meanwhile, Baek Doseon starts to put real pressure on her son, Huyeong. She disapproves of his relationship with Hongju and tries to coerce him into returning to the United States. However, Huyeong resolves not to be swayed by his mother's wishes any longer. Baek Doseon continues to make uncomfortable remarks and actions towards Hongju, trying to stir conflict between the two.

As Hongju’s emotions become more intense due to Baek Doseon’s pressure and Junho’s reappearance, she ends up having a major argument with Huyeong. Although Huyeong promises not to leave her, Hongju is overwhelmed by the fear that he might eventually do so. The two struggle to trust each other’s true feelings and, for the first time, have a serious fight. They confide in their friends about their frustrations, which ultimately helps them reaffirm their feelings for each other.

After the conflict, Huyeong boldly confronts Baek Doseon, declaring that he will no longer let her interfere with Hongju. He makes a firm decision to protect Hongju. In response, Hongju reaches out to Huyeong, extending a hand of reconciliation. The two reaffirm their commitment to each other and decide to strengthen their relationship.

However, Baek Doseon’s opposition remains strong, leaving Huyeong to wonder if he can overcome his mother’s disapproval. Eventually, Huyeong proposes that Hongju move to the United States with him. Hongju is left at a crossroads, forced to decide whether to accept his offer or stay in Korea and continue their relationship. Episode 8 ends on a cliffhanger, heightening the tension and leaving viewers eager to see what will happen next in their relationship.
